Trengrouse Home-Learning; Friday 8th May 2015
Hi there. Here is the homework for the following week. I will keep spares in class and if you are unsure of anything please let me know. Homework club will also be available to children on Tuesday and Wednesday lunchtimes. |
English/TopicThe children have a sheet attached of the slides for our Amazing Amazon assembly next Tuesday…
They should practise their parts in the assembly and explain the assembly using the slides as a guide. |
Next week’s debate topic is ‘children should be allowed to vote in elections’ |
MathsDue to our SATS tests, the children’s maths lessons are again focussed on shape and angles next week. The websites below provide excellent opportunities to investigate this through games. The children can also investigate shapes they see everyday in their homes and outside.
· Mathletics is a great tool for this (and other maths learning) – children need their log-on for this site. · http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks2/maths/shape_space/angles/play/ · http://resources.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/maths/shapes/angles.html · http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks2/maths/shape_space/shapes/read/1/ · http://resources.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/maths/shape.htm · http://resources.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/maths/shapes/coordinates.html#Symmetry

Boscawen Class Update from Miss Pedlar
Dear Parents,
I am writing to keep you up to date with the timetable and my expectations for Boscawen class. All children need to have their PE kit in school on a Tuesday and Wednesday this will begin from the 18th of May. I would like all children to read every night for 10 minutes at home. Homework every week is to practice their spellings in their neatest handwriting, as I am rewarding children with pen licences and writer of the week, also they need to practice their time’s tables. I will be testing spellings and a chosen time’s table every Friday morning. I will send home, at a later date, a new homework grid for the new topic after half term. We will be carrying out optional SATs tests the week before half term, the week of the 18th of May. If you have any concerns please do pop in to the classroom and see me, or just pop in and say hello it would be great to meet you.
Kind Regards,
Miss Pedlar
