Davy class newsletter 15/06/17
Literacy
This week we have been practicing the play, we had our Tuesday assembly all about our lovely time at camp and performed our experiences.
Sports Day
At 1:15 pm we did sports day and for the first time in years, the weather was on our side.Droskyen and Boligny were 15 points apart. For once Bolingy won beating Chapel rock, Droysken and Perrancoome.
Den building day
This den building day, we are building dens in the environmental area out of anything you can bring from home, also you can bring your things home or you can leave them up. Mr mcGowan is going to pour water over us to see if it is waterproof.
Class photo
On the 19th of June we have our school photos so make sure you’re looking smart and happy.

Den Building Day
Today Davy class along, with Boscawen class, made dens in the environmental area to raise money for Save the Children. They also made to make a flag to identify their shelter. The final test was whether or not their den would withstand a rain shower.
All the classs made brilliant dens and not many got wet!

Penhaligon Class Newsletter Friday 16th June
Penhaligon Newsletter 16.6.17
This week we have continued our learning on Brazil. We have been learning about Mass in Maths and enjoyed weighing ingredients to make scones with Mrs Axon. In Literacy we have started to learn about the footballer Pele.
Home Learning
For Home Learning this week I would like the children to find and record at least three facts about Brazil. For extra home learning this week make your own poster all about Brazil.
Support tips:
- Use the search engine safe search kids to search online. We have been using this search engine in class and the children have a very good understanding of how to stay safe online.
- Encourage your child to read their writing back to spot their own mistakes. Have they used capital letters? Is their handwriting sitting on the lines? Have they remembered to join their handwriting?
Spellings Group 1- door, floor, poor, because, find, kind, mind, behind, child, climb.
Spellings Group 2- be, bee, blue, blew, knight, night, door, poor, floor, because.
Times tables- Next week we will be practising the multiplication/division facts for the 10 x table.
Recorder
If the children have their own recorders remember to bring them in on Mondays.
