Davy class newsletter 10.11.2016
Literacy
This week in literacy we have been looking at play scripts and the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. We acted out the scenes. The cast was: lord Carnavon, Howard Carter and a water boy. Next week, we will be writing a play script all about the Tutankhamun’s findings.
BODMAS maths
In maths this week we have been doing a lot of the 4 operations (BODMAS). Here is a question to try at home, it’s at the bottom. Mr Mc Gowan is the head of maths so we get hard questions!
Next week
On Friday we are celebrating children in need day and on Tuesday there are a swim a thon and two people are doing catering as well on Tuesday.

Boscawen Newsletter 11th November 2016
Dear Parents and Carers,
First of all, a big thank you for all the effort the children went to for their first piece of home learning. They have produced some fantastic art and poetry based on Bonfire Night and we have displayed it in class.
Mrs Smitheram will unfortunately be away for the start of next week, so I will be in full time again next week and we look forward her return the following week.
The children have made some fantastic information leaflets about the Stone Age this week, giving all the advice and information a time traveller to the Stone Age would need! They have focussed on their presentation as well as the content of their writing and should all be very proud of their efforts.
In maths we have begun to look at how we can use our times tables to answer division questions and we will continue with this next week.
As it is getting colder, can you please make sure your child has warm clothes for PE – leggings or tracksuit bottoms rather than shorts as well as trainers or plimsolls and a sweatshirt. Thank you.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything, please drop in to see me or email me on sburns@perranporth.cornwall.sch.uk.
Thank you.
Mrs Burns.
