Class Assembly
Please come along to our class assembly on Wednesday 20th July at 2.30pm.
Weather permitting, we will hold our assembly in the story telling area by the bottom play ground.
Afterwards, we invite you to join your child in our classroom where they will share some of this year’s learning with you.

St Piran Class Newsletter Friday 1st July
This Week
This week in Maths we have continued with our time topic. We have been learning about the days of the week and months of the year. Please note spellings this week are linked to our Maths learning rather than our Phonics. The children have learnt a new days of the week song. In English we have been continuing with our Non-Fiction learning and using Non-Fiction books to find interesting facts and sorting sentences into Fiction and Non-Fiction.
Phonics
This week we have revisited ‘ie’, ‘ou’ and ‘ay’. Next week we will be revisiting ‘sh’, ‘oo’ and ‘oa’.
Home learning
For home learning this week I would like the children to write at least one sentence about their favourite animal. Ask your child to explain why they have chosen their animal. The children can then make their own model or draw a picture of their favourite animal. For an extra challenge research an animal and write down the key facts about them.
Support tips:
- Talk to your child about their favourite animal.
- Help your child to use the National Geographic Kids website to research animal facts.
Many thanks
