Perranporth School Newsletter 22nd March 2013
Perranporth School Newsletter 22nd March 2013
Dear Parents/Carers,
Mrs Smitheram, together with Glyn (Eva’s grandad), a professional thatcher and children from the juniors have been busy thatching the Celtic Hut this week. It is looking great. Have a look on the “Lets Get Creative” blog on the web-site.
Despite the appalling weather, the “Fly Be Football Festival” went ahead on Thursday. Well done to all! Congratulations to Megan in Davy Class, who achieved 85 marks in the piano class in The Truro Music Festival last week. Trengrouse Class performed their recorder playing to the school in assembly.
CAR PARKING
I received a letter from a resident in Somerville Road this week and would appreciate your support with not parking in the road.
“Somerville Road is a private road and not a temporary car park for this purpose. The residents along the road are continually paying to upkeep the road, which is constantly being eroded by the quantity of ‘school run’ vehicles turning and parking along its length. Coupled with this, there are numerous times when we are actually unable to pass along the road to access our own homes, or join Liskey Hill, not to mention delivery and service vehicles’ difficulty of access, which is totally unacceptable.”
EASTER BINGO
The FOPS Annual Easter Bingo will take place on Wednesday 27th March from 7pm. This year it will take place in the Memorial Hall and NOT the school hall. This is a great night out for both adults and children and always a good fundraiser for school. Please see flyer in your child’s book bag. We are asking for parents to donate cakes that we can sell during the evening. Just bring them along to the Memorial Hall on the night.
RAFFLE PRIZES NEEDED
This year FOPS are holding an Easter raffle during the Bingo evening. If you would like to donate a prize for this, please hand in to the school secretary. Thank you.
Best Wishes,
Liz Martin (headteacher)
