Dear Parents and Carers
The children have been working really hard again this week.
In literacy, we have been thinking about non-fiction books. The children know how to find information in non-fiction books, and the difference between fiction and non-fiction. They are becoming experts on Emperor Penguins – thank you to Eva for bringing in her book, The Emperor’s Egg. We have also been thinking about how to use apostrophes to show where we have missed out a letter like don’t.
In numeracy, we have started looking at 3d shapes, the children are going to look for 3d shapes while they are out and about, can they spot a sphere or a cube? In their number work, they have been working with multiplication.
The children loved making igloos out of marshmallows and icing – they loved eating them even more!

Next week, our days will be slightly different, Mrs Willetts will teach Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and Mrs Burns will teach Wednesday and Thursday.
We have had some amazing dioramas from the children, next week we will set our new homework, so could we have all the homework books back on Monday, please?
Finally, we are saying ‘Good-bye’ to Xena today. She is moving to Newquay and we wish her lots of luck at her new school. We know she will makes of new friends very quickly.
