Class governor visit.
On my recent visit to St Piran class I was very interested to see the children demonstrating their developing skills in addition and subtraction. The governors are supporting the current school focus on raising mathematical standards across the school. It was clear to see children were using a range of strategies to help them solve the calculations, it was also clear that children were using their number knowledge to help them e.g. counting in twos is quicker than counting every one!!
It was good to see so many children enjoying mathematics and for those who were finding it a bit more of a challenge you could see their determination to persevere and some enjoyment from the achievement. This also reflects the current support from governors on developing successful learners through Building Learning Power. It was a most enjoyable morning and I am looking forward to my next visit.
