Dear Parents and Carers,
This week we have begun to practise our songs for our carol concert. All children have been given a set of lyrics for all the songs and we will be practising them a lot more next week. Our concert, which is a joint performance with Year 2 and Year 4, will take place on Monday 12th December at 6pm in the school hall. We hope to see you all there.
Thank you to everyone who has sent in items for the Christmas hamper, all items have now been collected by FOPS to make the hampers for the Christmas fair. The fair will take place on Saturday 10th December, from 10am-12pm.
Just a reminder that we will be checking reading records every week, so please make sure your child has it in school every day. We like children to read at least 5 times a week at home. Please record any reading in the record (or get your child to record it themselves with a comment about what they have read.)
Please also check that your child has their spellings book with them on Thursday (for the test) and Friday (to stick new spellings in.) Thank you.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything, as always, please drop in to see us or email us on sburns@perranporth.cornwall.sch.uk or esmitheram@perranporth.cornwall.sch.uk .
Thank you.
Mrs Smitheram and Mrs Burns.
p.s. We will be making our Christmas decorations for the Christmas Fair over the next couple of weeks and will need jam jars – if you have a spare empty one at home, could you please send it in to school. Thank you.
Boscawen Newsletter 11th November 2016
Dear Parents and Carers,
First of all, a big thank you for all the effort the children went to for their first piece of home learning. They have produced some fantastic art and poetry based on Bonfire Night and we have displayed it in class.
Mrs Smitheram will unfortunately be away for the start of next week, so I will be in full time again next week and we look forward her return the following week.
The children have made some fantastic information leaflets about the Stone Age this week, giving all the advice and information a time traveller to the Stone Age would need! They have focussed on their presentation as well as the content of their writing and should all be very proud of their efforts.
In maths we have begun to look at how we can use our times tables to answer division questions and we will continue with this next week.
As it is getting colder, can you please make sure your child has warm clothes for PE – leggings or tracksuit bottoms rather than shorts as well as trainers or plimsolls and a sweatshirt. Thank you.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything, please drop in to see me or email me on sburns@perranporth.cornwall.sch.uk.
Thank you.
Mrs Burns.
